When to seek specialist input

Are you experiencing any of these?

Many rheumatic conditions are easier to manage when assessed early. If any of the following sound familiar, a specialist review can bring clarity. Tap any symptom to learn more.

Joint pain or swelling that lingers is not always simple wear and tear. It can be an early sign of inflammatory arthritis. Identifying the cause early gives the best chance of protecting the joint from lasting damage, so a prompt assessment is worthwhile rather than waiting to see if it settles.
Stiffness that takes more than half an hour to ease after waking points more towards inflammation than ordinary wear and tear. Recognising this pattern early helps distinguish inflammatory arthritis from other causes and allows treatment to begin before any damage develops.
Back pain is common, but pain that started at a younger age, wakes you in the night, or eases with movement can suggest inflammatory arthritis of the spine, particularly alongside psoriasis or a family history of it. Early investigation helps reach an accurate diagnosis and protect the spine over the long term.
Tiredness that rest doesn't relieve can be linked to autoimmune or rheumatic disease. Because fatigue has many possible explanations, a thorough assessment is the best way to rule out anything serious and to find practical ways of improving how you feel.
Fingers or toes that turn white, blue, then red in the cold, sometimes with pain or numbness, may be Raynaud's phenomenon. It often occurs on its own, but can occasionally signal an underlying autoimmune condition, so a check helps separate the harmless from the more significant.
Sudden, intensely painful joint flares may be gout or another form of crystal arthritis. Recurrent attacks are worth assessing properly, as the right treatment can both settle an acute flare and reduce how often they return.

The one-stop ultrasound clinic

Using point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) at the bedside, Dr Borukhson can assess, diagnose and treat within one appointment, sparing you repeat visits and long waits between steps.

Assess

A thorough consultation and clinical examination, with high-resolution ultrasound to look directly at joints, tendons and soft tissues for inflammation.

Diagnose

Ultrasound findings such as synovitis, tenosynovitis, enthesitis or crystal disease are interpreted on the spot to reach a rapid, accurate diagnosis.

Treat

Where appropriate, precise ultrasound-guided aspiration or injection is performed in the same visit, improving accuracy and comfort.
