Dr Liubov Borukhson
Specialist care for the full spectrum of rheumatological conditions, with a focus on musculoskeletal ultrasound
Dr Liubov Borukhson is a Consultant Rheumatologist within Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where she runs her NHS rheumatology clinics, including her unique ultrasound-integrated service, principally at Charing Cross Hospital and also at Hammersmith Hospital. She also sees private patients at the dedicated private facilities run by Imperial Private Healthcare (IPH), the Trust's private arm, at each of the three Trust hospitals where she practises: Charing Cross, Hammersmith and St Mary's.
She manages the full spectrum of rheumatological conditions, including inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, vasculitis, osteoporosis and rare autoimmune disorders.
She graduated with first-class honours from Donetsk National Medical University in 2007. A native Russian and Ukrainian speaker, she consults in English, Russian and Ukrainian. Her multicultural background allows her to build strong relationships with patients from diverse backgrounds and to provide personalised, patient-centred care.
Training & expertise
Dr Borukhson completed her specialist rheumatology training in leading tertiary centres, including Addenbrooke's Hospital, University College Hospital and the Royal Free Hospital.
She holds an MSc in Rheumatology from King's College London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography from the University of East London. Her particular interest is musculoskeletal point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), offering one-stop clinics where assessment, rapid diagnosis and highly precise ultrasound-guided injections can often be performed within the same appointment.
